I just watched it and found it boring at first before you hate me i just wanna explain why
The story to me was a boy living life a normal realistic life when i realized they didnt end up together i wasnt sad or upset I knew it was natural for that to happen
But somehow i forgot the line when he was a kid thinking that if he really loved her anything is possible, That might have been the reason i found it boring at first it’s still a life of a guy to me ,but he’s someone who couldn’t face life realistically i guess
Ty bruh. Just recently watched it nd ws confused a little bit. But after watching this vid. Now i understand it completely ,the style of writing nd the way of presentation is far beyond everything despite it ws his second film but public didn't understand the way of narration .nd just like some of his other styles like ur name etc. With a bit of scifi spices.

I just watched ur video review. Man! This is the closure that i was looking for. Thanks for the deep explanation. I'm now closer to the real msg that the director intended for this movie. Although it is very hurt and sad, but this movie is the very definition of "slice of life". It's not some 10 years old kids' fantasy, it shows us the cruel reality of the world. For me, the second part (Cosmonaut) upset me most. Takaki knew this relation has been washing away by time, but he just couldn't let it go. He turned down another chance , as well as making himself and Sumida suffered. Shinohara had already moved on, he knew it! But he couldn't do the same. Really unfair.
